In addition to the general draw and special draw, a category-based speed competition of laps was also held. To be eligible to receive an invitation from the Category-based Express Entry draw, you must meet all the conditions in the circular instructions.
When Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducts a category-based invitation round, it ranks the candidates who meet the category requirements and invites the best candidates to apply for infinity.
IRCC will provide all necessary details in the instructions for each round.
Please note that you must be eligible for an Entry Check before being invited to the Express Entry category. This means you must meet all eligibility requirements for the Canadian Experience Class, Federal Employment Service, or Federal Enterprise Administration.
How does Canada select groups?
Each year, IRCC informs Parliament about the groups selected in the previous year, including why and how the groups were selected, instructions on the composition of the groups, and the number of invitations made to all groups.
Canada will also include information about category-based Entry in its annual Express Entry year-end report. IRCC will also monitor and evaluate the groups to ensure ease of doing business.
